some additional questions:
1. is there a way to set the default zoom when I open excel or web browsers? the default is too small so I am constantly have to adjust
2. when I do a cmd+tab it shows a bunch of apps to tab through but not all apps are open?
1. Not that I know of. Some apps (Finder does, BBEdit is another) that either remember or allow you to set the position of the window on opening. This is why I continue to use Magnet, it is a simple two-key action to place the window where you want it [option] +
moves the window in focus to the left half of the screen.

2. This works on my Mac Mini. The app does not have to be open on your screen. I can be open but in the Doc. Open apps in the Doc have a small black dot at the bottom of the app icon.

Hope that helps,

Hi new mac user, I'm here looking for something else but thought maybe I could help out a tad?
Zooming.... few real easy methods I use ALL THE TIME.

Easiest (and I didn't look, if you are using a trackpad I don't know how to do this.) But with a mouse, simply hold down CTRL and use the scroll wheel on the mouse. Easy peasy. I zoom in and out constantly. (Maybe someone with a track pad can post how it's done on that.)

Another way, and no mouse needed, command/and use the minus plus sign, in or out. Functions the same as above.

Last method, and one I haven't actually needed to use in years, is in each application you use, you can find settings, or preferences and adjust the screen resolution. Higher resolution shrinks everything. You can do that in mac settings as well but that will effect everything. Again I haven't actually done that one in a long time. Those other two methods are fast and easy.
