Syncing new MacBook without old MacBook password

I am tying to sync a new MacBook with my iCloud account and it's asking me for the password to the old machine which has been gone for 10 years, and the password long forgotten. it won't let me past this step. I removed that machine form my account, unregistered it.

The prompt is for your iCloud Keychain to keep it secure. There should be an option to reset it. If you do reset it, then the items in your new Macs keychain should migrate up.

However if you have an iPhone, iPad or another mac that is syncing to the cloud, make sure that you turn off keychain sync on them 1st.
