Hi, I updated my Mac with the new OS X software and now ever since that when I connect to the internet I get a pop up screen saying networksetup trying to modify the system network configuration. I have to put in my user name and password everytime.

Please help, how do I stop this?

Thank you for that but the window is still coming up when I connect to the internet. Is there anything else I should be updating or repairing?

Hi,
Try this first drag the network to the top in the order of networks.

System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Wi-Fi

If this does not fix then delete the network, select it and click the minus button underneath.
Shut down the Mac leave five mins then restart and rejoin the network with user name and password.
Last resort.
Go to Keychain Access and delete the profile for the network. This way the Mac will not know the password to put in. Then reboot and rejoin again.

Hi,

I tried to delete the network as you suggested and shutdown for 5 mins then rejoin the network. Its still happening.
As for the keychain access I have no idea how to do that.

Hi,

First open System Preferences then Network click on AirPort or Wi-Fi on the left click Advanced at the lower right, now locate the name of the network and click on it to highlight it click the - (minus) button at the bottom of the list to delete it,
click OK, then click Apply.

Now for keychain
1) Open Macintosh HD
2) Open Applications
3)Open Utilities
4)Open KeyChain Access
5) Locate the name of the wireless network and click it to highlight
6) Delete that entry

Restart your Mac.

I have done the first part but when I go to the keychains, all I have is what I have attached. Which one do I delete?

Hi,

Your in the wrong place, once you open the keychain window click system in the top left box as my screen shot then all your airport connections will be listed. I have highlighted one of mine and as you can see in the very top box it gives a description so you can't go wrong.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Ok I have now done all of that, the network is no longer there, what do I have to do now?
You have done all you need to regarding removing the network and its key.
My internet is working still which surprised me
1) Did you get asked for a network key and password the first time you turned the mac on after you had deleted the keychain info?
2) Click your airport connection link in the menu bar as my first screen shot and check you have the correct selected network.
3) Go to system preferences and check your setting re my second and third screen shot.

After all is said do you still have to enter username and password?

Ok so to your first question, no I wasn't asked for a network key and password after turning my mac on. When I open the airport connection as per my screen shot none of these are mine.
Also I am still getting the network set up pop up screen each time I log onto the internet

Hi Sarah,

I am a little baffled  to say the least, as if your are on a network it should show under your airport connections as the network you are connected to.

Click the airport icon then select ( join other network ) as my screen shot, when the new box opens click ( show networks ) does yours now show up?
1) If yes select it, does it now show when you click the airport icon?
2) If not then click cancel and go back to join other networks then enter your networks name and its pass key.

What are the answers to (1) if no then what happens with (2) does it now show under your airport connections.

Also must ask if this is a USB WiFi device and which country you are in?
