Before you do that, lets have a crack at Safari.
1. delete Library > Preferences > com.apple.safari.plist
If that doesn't clear it.
Ensure there are no Safari Extensions Active. Safari Menu > Preferences > Extensions
Then under the Safari Menu Reset Safari. Don't reset the passwords, but do everything else.
