Got it in April 2020. Had to replace the battery by April 2021 because it just wouldn’t turn on, which was still luckily within the one-year warranty. In August 2022, same thing happened, wouldn’t turn on, Apple Support said I have to pay out of pocket to replace the battery because I stupidly didn’t buy AppleCare, so I paid $700 to fix it.
Lo and behold, the same exact thing just happened again and looks like it’s a battery replacement AGAIN. I actually can’t believe that this less than 4 year old, very expensive laptop has had THREE battery failures and Apple’s stance is effectively “Weird. that sucks… still gotta pay for it”.
Has anyone ever heard of a policy Apple has for what’s effectively a lemon?
