Which OS X ??

How do I know if my MBP is Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Ginger Tom or what?
Because I want to know how to do stuff with my MBP but the question is always asked, which OS X?

Under the Apple Menu > About This Mac...

10.8 - Mountain Lion
10.7 - Lion
10.6 - Snow Leopard
10.5 - Leopard
10.4 - Tiger
10.3 - Panther
10.2 - Jaguar
10.1 - Cheetah/Puma

When the "About This Mac" window appear, look underneath where it says Mac OS X to where the Software Version info is ... well - if you click on "Version etc" the displayed info changes to "Build #" and a further click displays your Mac's Serial #.

Clicking the "More Info" button takes you to a very comprehensive report on everything you need to know about your Mac model.
