Where the **** are my files?????

somehow all of my purchased song files (from a website called Traxsource) are all missing as if they never existed on this computer or on my other mac. i purchased the files either as AIFF or WAV for sure no doubt about it. recently i tried to sync the music to a usb with a program called Rekordbox and the files do not exist. they have been converted to m4a. WHY THE **** DID MY FILES GET CONVERTED AND LEAVE NO TRACE OF THE ORIGINAL FILES WHICH I PAID FOR MYSLEF. I AM BEYOND PISSED AND ONCE I CONVERT ALL MY FILES BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL FORMAT I WILL NEVER EVER EVERRRRRRRR USE A MAC EVER AGAIN. THIS IS ****ING RIDICULOUS AND I CANT BELIEVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAPPEN OR EVEN COULD POTENTIALLY HAPPEN. any insights???

I don't think the Mac is at fault. Rekordbox is an app for professional DJ's and anecdotally a friend of my son tells me it took him a year to learn the ins and outs of it. He is a part time DJ.
Personally I have used an app called Media Human to convert music for a USB thumb drive to use in the car. It does not move or alter the originals.

Hello and welcome.

We can definitely understand your frustration, but there is no need for inappropriate language or typing in all caps (yelling). We are happy to help, but please refrain from that in your future posts here, as we are an all volunteer forum of members donating their time to help others in a friendly and supportive way.

We always suggest that folks have a Time Machine or other form of backup of their user data for this very reason. Have you tried reaching out to Rekordbox support as well, as most of our members probably haven't used that software personally.
