Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I have recently (maybe last 3 months and increasing) encountered problems on certain (usually uk) sites which used to work fine but no longer function correctly. The problem is usually with drop down menus which do not respond when clicking with the mouse. Some stay frozen, others refresh the screen but return to the same option. Seems to happen on maybe 5% of the sites I visit, whereas drop down menus on several other sites work just fine. These are not small sites and included is for example Tesco online groceries which I can no longer use, whereas Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury give me no such grief. I have enquired at Tesco help, but they do not seem overly concerned, although with macs having 10% of pc market share, you would think if all mac users are having the same problem as me, they are losing easy sales. Other sites include debenhams and nespresso.

I wondered if anyone else had encountered these problems? I can live without using these sites, but it is annoying as sometimes you can waste time before coming across a drop down menu which refuses to function.

I have just tried Tesco, Nespresso and Debenhams with Safari 6.0.2 and no problems, what browser are you using and security protocol within its preferences?

Hi,

Unless you have boot camped your Mac and have a win partition remove the antivirus ASAP you really do not need an AV, it just slows things down then let us know the browsing outcome.

You need to have JavaScript Enabled, Java and JavaScript are completely unrelated JavaScript is fine, Java not fine.

On the Advanced tab turn on the Show Develop menu in menu bar and you will see all manner of options for trouble shooting web pages.
