Using Transmission Kills Internet

Hi All,

I have been using transmission for the past few months with no problems or issues.
All of a sudden whenever I have an active download happening on transmission, safari wont open any new pages and I essentially have no internet access.

My knowledge is basic at best but could this be a port issue or is there something really obvious I am missing. I am really stumped on this so any help would be much appreciated.
