Using other Email program with AOL

I have a Mac OS X version 10.2.3 and Entourage Version 10.0.0 and I connect to the Internet with AOL for Mac. I need to send and receive email with my own ISP and AOL is blocking sending emails. I can recieve, just not send. Is there a solution for this with AOL or do I need to move on to another ISP that will not block sending my other mail? My frustration with not being able to get an answer from AOL on this matter leads me to the conclusion that I need a different ISP to connect to the Internet. Do you have any suggestions on which service works best with Mac?

ISPs are very area-dependent usually. What choices do you have at your location?

I'm not surprised though, I've heard some bad things about AOL.

Also, have you tried using another program (not Entourage), such as Apple Mail?
