USB/DAC - connection problem to MacMini

I have a MacBook Pro (2012), that I use as a music streamer via a USB/DAC (Denon DA-10).
It is connected via USB and works well.

Have gotten a scrapped MacMini (2014), that I instead would setup to serve the same purpose, as my setup is stationary.
BUT the Mac can recognise my DAC, but no sound (have tried the old MacBook Pro and it works) - can that be related to the fact, that the Mini have USB3?

Can synod guide me here - or should I just dispose the Mini?

Hello and welcome.

The Mac mini should work the same as the MBP. Did you adjust the settings in Audio MIDI Setup and select the DAC as the audio output destination in the Sound preferences pane?

If so, try power cycling both devices.

C
