I just joined the Mac Help forum and hopefully this thread has not been previously created.

I am looking for suggestion as to which version of OS X I should or should not upgrade to. I have been hanging onto Snow Leopard, 10.6.8, because of backward compatability with some older software that requires Rosetta Stone (primarily Canvas v10).

I have read so many negative comment on upgrading beyond 10.6.8 that I a totally confused as to which direction to take.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what Canvas V10 is, but if you must run any PowerPc applications, then you cannot upgrade, as the "background" application Rosetta allows one to run such apps, but it is no longer supported beyond OS 10.6.8. This link should help you also:

Canvas was the premier drawing program for the Mac. It was ported over to the PC and eventually all Mac support and updates for Canvas were dropped. Deneba has been promising renewed Mac support and upgrades for years, but frankly I'm tired of waiting. Thanks for your response.
