Update OS 10.7.5

My early 2008 17" MacBook Pro (S/N 883501NYP4) is using OS 10.7.5. Which later versions of OS 10 can I use in this computer?

Hello and welcome.

Your MBP can run up to Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan. Unless you have previously "purchased" (price was free) El Capitan from the App Store, it won't be available directly or in your Purchased tab in the App Store.

You may be able to visit an Apple Store and they may be able to install it for you, but that's not guaranteed.
