Update from Mac OS 10.5.8

Hello.

I'm new to mac-help.com but I'm in desperate need of mac help!

For days and days and days I've been trying to update my MacBook to something that actually works.
As I'm sure you're all aware there are no more updates now for 10.5.8 and on the internet all I see is update to Snow Leopard.

I've finally got hold of a disc, but the MacBook keeps spitting it out again. Im getting impatient now haha!
Theres only so many times I can sit here inserting this disc.

Processor: 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 1.GB 667 MHz SDRAM

Please help and I will be muchos grateful

Hello and welcome.

-Does it mount the disc at all, or just spin and spit it out?
-Is the SL disc a retail version with Snow Leopard art, or a machine-specific version with grey art?

It doesnt mount at all no, Just spin and spit.
Its the retail version, with coloured artwork on the front

The Mac doesn't recognise the DVD try it in another Mac to see if the its a Drive Problem or a DVD problem.
