Hello Mac Help Community,
I'm in desperate need of assistance with my Mac running OS X 10.10.5 (Yosemite). I'm facing a frustrating and critical combination of issues that are severely impacting my ability to use my computer, especially for my schoolwork.
Here's a detailed breakdown of my problems:
iMessage and FaceTime Login Failure: I cannot log into either iMessage or FaceTime. I've attempted numerous troubleshooting steps found online, but none have resolved the issue. I rely on these services for communication, and their unavailability is a significant problem.
Website Incompatibility & School Resource Access: Many websites, particularly those essential for my school assignments, are not loading correctly or are completely inaccessible. I believe this is due to outdated browser compatibility and security protocols. This is hindering my ability to complete my schoolwork.
Internet Provider & School Referral Loop: My internet provider suggested contacting my school for assistance, as they suspected it was a network issue related to school resources. However, my school was unable to provide a solution, leaving me stuck and without support.
I understand that OS X 10.10.5 is an older operating system, and I am aware of the limitations. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, upgrading to a newer macOS or purchasing a new Mac is not currently an option.
I urgently require assistance with the following:
Troubleshooting iMessage and FaceTime login issues on OS X 10.10.5.
Identifying compatible web browsers or browser settings that will allow me to access essential school websites.
Finding any workarounds or solutions for accessing modern web based resources on such an old OS.
Recommendations for antivirus software that is still compatible with OS X 10.10.5.
I am a student facing significant academic challenges due to these technical problems. Any guidance, suggestions, or solutions you can provide would be immensely helpful. I am at my wits end and need some direction.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
