Un-merging User Profiles

After having new RAM installed in our I-MAC it was returned with our two user profiles merged. If I go on a site we both use on my user profile it will come up with the password my wife uses on hers. If my wife does a search for plumbing fixtures on her user profile, I get ads for them on mine. I was told it was because we are now sharing the same Cloud account but I can't figure out how to get our profiles separated again.

-Who installed the RAM?
-Why would they have merged your accounts?
-Do you each have a user on the Mac and are they both signed in with the same iCloud account?

-Actually, you may have hit on something here. To be honest I'm not a tech guy and I find iCloud extremely confusing.
