Too dumb

Too dumb to figure out how to put a Yahoo mail shortcut icon on the desktop of my Macbook Air 2011. Help?

Hope this is what you are seeking …. the area directly to the left of the Trash icon in the Dock is the only place a user can store icons/folders etc … they act as shortcuts. You'll notice a dotted line next to the Trash or near to it.

You can also drag a web page icon or Favicon as they are know, directly onto the Desktop so you could have a whole folder of these if you wish.
