At thee WDC, announced (as expected) a new Mac OS, High Sierra:

As usual, it has some "decent" features, although the biggest one is the new Apple file system, APFS. I suspect quite a lot of third party software will need to be updates.
Also, note the FAQ portion of that link. IT clearly states how to upgrade to High Sierra, and what Macs it can be used on. Interesting that to go from either Leopard or Snow Leopard to High Sierra, one must "get to" El Capitan first.
As usual, I suspect it will be necessary for me to wait until the ".1" release of High Sierra is available, as some of my critical third party apps will not have upgrades available until after the initial release.
