I have the same problem. The Last Backup in the menu bar icon for Time Machine always says "Yesterday, 10:47 AM".

If I start a backup manually and go to preferences for Time Machine, it shows the backup running and when complete, the correct time and date for the backup while the menu icon still shows "Yesterday, 10:47 AM".

Hello and welcome,

-Which version of OS X?
-Does it always show the correct dates & time in  > System Preferences... > Time Machine:
Oldest backup:
Latest backup:
Next backup:

-If you uncheck Show Time Machine in the menu bar and restart, then re-enable it, does that fix the issue?
