Hi there, i wonder if anyone can help...
I have a G4 Dual 1.42GHz PowerMac running OSX 10.2.8 and recently decided to add users to my system so the people i share a house with could use my computer.
In setting up permissions for new users, by mistake, I changed the permissions of my System, Applications, Library and other top level folders to 'admin'.......Idiot.
My computer will no longer boot OSX. I get past the solid grey apple screen but then just get a solid blue screen with revolving beachball (which eventually turns to a mouse pointer) but no OS, no log-on, nothing....
I've tried booting from my OSX install DVD holding C at power up, but I get a kernel panic and am told to re-start the machine, so i can't run disc utility from the DVD and repair permissions.
I have no idea what to do... any ideas?
Many thanks
John
