I bought an iBook recently:

PowerPC G3 500Mhz
20 GB HD
380 MB RAM
12.1 Display
Dual USB Ports

It didn't come with a SuperDrive (I think that is what it is called) to burn/watch DVD's, etc. If I bought one off of ebay and installed it, would it automatically recognize it being there? Would I have to install anything on it? Sorry, but I'm still a newb with Mac's!

I don't believe there are any compatible internal SuperDrives for that particular iBook model. Best available is the DVD/CD-R combo drive that would allow you to watch but not burn. It's a bit of a trick to replace as well.

That model does have a FW 400 port though and you could always add a third-party external drive like those from LaCie.
