Stuttering Video Stream After Lid Close

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and am running OSX 10.7. If I close the lid on my mac and it goes to sleep as planned I have an issue on lifting the lid. If I now try to stream video it stutters, I have tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari as well as a number of different streaming sites such as youtube and BBC iplayer and they all do the same. The only remedy i can find is to shut down the OS and do a restart when the streaming video works perfectly until I close the lid again. Any ideas what the cause may be and what the solution is to this annoying issue?

Are all your Software Updates installed?

Check if just logging out and back in clears the problem?

Will try the apple route, wondered whether it was an issue that was well documented.

All software is up to date. A full reboot is the only thing that rectifies the issue.

Very frustrating.
