Dealing with high-pitched noise from your AirPods can be frustrating. Here are some easy fixes and tips to help you resolve this issue.

How to Fix AirPods Making High-Pitched Noise?

  • Reconnect your AirPods to your devices by bringing them close to your iPhone and following the on-screen instructions.
This reset process can resolve many connection issues and glitches that might be causing the high-pitched noise.

Regular AirPods:

  • Gently wipe the black mesh of your AirPods with a clean microfiber towel.
  • Blow away any loose debris.

AirPods Pro:

  • Remove the ear tips from your AirPods Pro.

Removing moisture and sweat from the AirPods can prevent any electrical interference that might be causing the high-pitched noise.

5. Reattach the Silicone Tips Properly

  • Remove the silicone tips from your affected AirPod.
  • Hold the AirPod so the black speaker mesh is facing up.
  • Reattach the silicone tip so that a faint black line is visible from that angle.
Proper reattachment can ensure that the tips fit well and do not cause any feedback that leads to high-pitched noises.

6. Check for Physical Damage

  • Inspect your AirPods for any signs of physical damage or misalignment.
  • If you notice any minor issues, try to patch them yourself.
  • For significant damage, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store.
Physical damage can cause various sound issues, and identifying it early can help you decide whether you need a repair or replacement.

7. Use a Hair Dryer on Low Heat

  • Set a hair dryer to a low heat setting.
  • Carefully direct the airflow over the affected AirPods for about 15 seconds.
This can help evaporate any moisture trapped inside the AirPods that might be causing the high-pitched noise.

8. Enable Background Sounds

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Tap on Accessibility.
  • Go to Audio/Visual > Background Sounds.
  • Enable it and set the sound to Rain at 0% volume.
This method can help mitigate the high-pitched noise issue temporarily until a firmware update is released.

9. Contact Apple Support

If none of the above solutions work, it's best to contact Apple Support. They can run diagnostics and might provide a replacement if necessary.

These steps cover various aspects of troubleshooting, from software settings to physical maintenance, ensuring that you can find a solution regardless of the root cause of the high-pitched noise in your AirPods.
