I've researched this a fair bit and can't find any solutions. I have a MacAir OS X 10.7.4, about 6 months old. I keep getting a Startup Disk is Full message and when I look into the HD storage the "Other" portion is completely full. Yes I've emptied the trash, deleted music, movies etc (all of which show zero bytes). So I'm not sure how to resolve this because I'm not able to add anything to the hard drive until this space gets freed up.
Thanx

Have you checked iPhoto and iMovies Trash ... they have their own separate Trash. Also you can try show/hide invisible files ... I once found a 6 GB iDVD project that was on my Desktop, totally invisible, ages after I'd deleted the project!

Show hidden files Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

There are a couple of apps that you could try that show you what is hogging your Disc space, like WhatSize for one, has a free trail version.

Find out what's taking up all your disc space
