¿ Is there no customazation of the toolbar so I can quickly click an icon to sort a column ascending / descending ?
As it is not it takes several clicks, it is clumsy, annoying

Are you talking about Numbers? Select the column, click on the little white arrow on the right hand side, click on Sort Ascending/Descending.

Three clicks. Only one more than selecting a column and clicking on an icon(which doesn't exist for the Toolbar).

I am talking about numbers app. Sorting is done like this
1: select the column
2: click the white arrow
3: look for Sort and
4: choose Ascending/Descending

This is four steps instead of just one as is usually implemented on the internet when it shows a list
This is very annoying when doing it often.

Other shortcuts would be desirable too. One example is hide/unhide columns and rows.
This should be just a click away. I am using it often

Well, there are a whole list of Shortcuts in Numbers>Help>Keyboard Shortcuts, but not for what you want.

Hi,

There aren't any toolbar customizations/icons that I know of that will do what you are looking for. You can just right-click on the column letter and you can sort, hide, etc. in one click.:

Hope that helps,
