Sonoma 14.5, iMessage enable problem

On my iMac after Sonoma 14.5 update, intermittently my iMessage stops sending messages, I receive messages, but cannot send replies. Sometimes iMessages works as advertised, then other times is says:

"Cannot Send Message
iMessage needs to be enabled to send
this message."​

This started happening after Sonoma 14.5 update.

I have turned off Messages in iCloud to see if it helps. Even though the messages are not synced across my devices.

In Messages > Settings > iCloud Check that your Apple ID is checked and any other address you wish to add usually the same as Accounts for email ect.
