Re: Openoffice.org

Hi there,

it's a bit clunky...but it's free !

You will need to install the Developer tools from your Original disks first.

I always recommend OpenOffice in preference to the 'other' one ;-)

Re: Openoffice.org

open office is a bit clunky, and a bit slow, but it has all the features you need, want, and more. If all you are looking for is a text editor, then try bean. That is an excellent text editor. I suggest getting both, so you can have the features of open office and the convenience of bean.

You can also try "NeoOffice". I like NeoOffice better than OpenOffice, but it is mostly the same thing. NeoOffice runs a bit smoother. It's made by Sun Microsystems.

Re: Openoffice.org

Get the MacOS X adapted version of OpenOffice.org called NeoOffice: http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php

Apple iWork 08 is also actually a pretty good product. If you got a demo disk with your Mac, try it out.
It's not particularily expensive either and opens and saves Office documents. It has word processor, spreadsheet and presentations.
