Hi,
when I use the curser to move a folder on the desk top there is 2 or 3 seconds before it moves.
I've tried permissions, caches, and preferences, to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Ensure you have a current backup!

In Utilities > Activity Monitor check to see if any process is running out of control.

Common culprits: Microsoft and Adobe products, Always ensure they are Quit after use. Flash, always ensure the Browser is Quit after flash plays.

Logout and back in see if this helps.

The amount of RAM can help speed up your computer.

If these are not the issue it could be the Hard Drive failing.

Thanks Kaveman,
I'm running a pirate Photoshop with software to stop my Mac talking to Adobe.
I think it was Adobe updater banging it's head against a brick wall.
Thanks again for your response.

Nigel.
