Shoirtcut Key Commands Not Functioning

My iMac Pro has suddenly lost all of the common shortcut key commands. Commands not working; open, close, save, save as, place, cut, copy, paste, group/ungroup, lock/locl all on spread, Bring front/forward/backward/back, zoom in/out, and all of the rest of the commands I use on a daily basis cannot be used and are grayed out in the menus. This is like having one hand tied behind my back. I have rebuilt my desk top, tried changing my system settings, and restarted multiple times. No resolution. I am on a iMac Pro, running Sonoma 14.6.1. I could use some help.

How long have you been running on macOS 14.6.1? I know it’s the latest version but you never know if some data had been damaged. I suggest reinstalling. I keep a copy of the system installer handy in order to avoid having to download it over and over.

You can do the download either through the App Store or via Terminal.
