Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on a problem! Today, for the first time ever, my Mac, which I've had since 2010, said "service battery" for the first time ever. I looked it up and understand what it means but my computer died and won't turn on even though it's plugged in. Shouldn't it work when connected to an outlet? Is the charger possibly broken as well? I was hoping that I could just use it in desktop mode as I'm in a place with no apple store and won't be home for another few days. It would be awful to not have it working for the next bit before I can take it an! Any advice or explanations? Thank you so much in advance!

It would be good if you tell us the specific Mac model you are using. But, maybe take the battery out, then plug in your machine and see if it works.
