Screen Mirroring iMac To Apple TV Gets All Funky

When I screen mirror from my iMac to my Apple TV the iMac screen gets all funky. First when I choose screen mirroring my custom wallpaper automatically changes back to the Apple default wallpaper. Second my screen resolution completely changes to a lower resolution. If I go into Displays on my iMac the option to change between different screen resolutions completely disappears while mirrored to the Apple TV device. Neither of these issues happened before I upgraded to the latest OS for both devices.

Sequoia 15.1
Apple TV 18.1
