My screen display unexpectedly switched to bright off colors. Difficult to read text, define windows.
System preference/display/color/profile selection changes does not resolve the problem
MacBook Air 13 inch, early 2015
Mojave 10.14.6

Hello and welcome.

Without seeing the issue, it sounds like you may have activated the Invert colors option in Accessibility. Check in  > System Preferences... > Accessibility > Display and uncheck Invert colors if it is checked.

Let us know if that fixes it.
