El Capitan

Has anyone successfully resized a partition with the new disk utility?

I have 3 partitions on an external drive. I want to increase the size of the time machine partition without erasing data on the partition that I want to reduce its size.

I have not used the new version of Disk Utility in El Capitan to resize a partition, but it should work fine.

Hmm, wonder if there are any issues with the drive itself? Did you run Disk Utility's First Aid on the drive/partitions to check it out? That might be a good, first step.

WD drives are notorious with "not playing nicely" with Macs. Let's hope it is OK for re-partitioning. Running Disk Utility to repair it is a good idea, although having a more robust disk miantennane/repair program like TechTool Pro or Disk Warrior would be better.
