reply address incorrect in MacMail

When I reply to my friend who has sent me an e-mail it replies to a non-existent address, which exists in the "reply to" section of the e-mail. If I highlight his address in the address bar it shows his correct address. How do I get rid of the incorrect address in the "reply to" bar?
