I reformatted my Macbook HD and have Linux as my OS. I'd like to be able to boot OS X Snow Leopard (or preferably 10.8 Mountain Lion) from a USB stick. I have OS X .dmg files on my PC. How can I make a bootable USB stick? Thanks.
I have used this method to install/reinstall El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina. It should work with earlier OSs
Choose an external drive or USB stick as your target to install OS.
With the Target drive connected boot with the option key pressed and you will have a choice of devices to boot from.
