recordable media not appearing on desktop

Running 10.3.9
After inserting a blank cd nothing appears. Have checked finder prefs and DO have media set to appear.

Hi there and Welcome,

has this 'ever' worked on your Mac or is it a 'new' problem ?

If it is a new problem have you recently loaded any new software ?
