Random fullstops and capital letters

Why does Pages/Mail suddenly decide that I need a fullstop in the middle of a sentence and then add a capital letter to the next word. I cannot work out any logical explanation.

It could be an issue with your keyboard - any liquid damage that you know of?

-Which model Mac?
-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Which version of Pages?

I solved it! On the keyboard screen there is an option to add period and Capital and I had ticked that by mistake and now I have unticked it the matter is sorted. Thank you very much for helping.
