SOLVED Ram help

Hi,
I have a 2011 mac book which is very slow these days. I use protools 11 on it and it has become unusable. It repeatedly stops and says the CPU has been overloaded.
I plan on updating my ram, would it be better to update to 8gb or would it be able to facilitate 16gb?

Hello,

Apple meant that it is technically not a user-serviceable upgrade, but it can be done and is fairly easy. iFixit has guides to show you how.
