Problems installing XP to use with Parallels

I've got a MacBook Pro 2GB RAM, 250 GB HD. Just installed Parallels. Inserted my Windows XP installation CD that came with my old Dell and was told by Parallels in the DOS window that "No Boot Device is Available...". Any ideas what the problem might be? Can I not use the installation CD since XP is already on my old Dell? I'm not that computer literate obviously...

Thanks in advance.

Hi there and welcome,

as far as I know you will need a 'proper' Microsoft XP instalation disk...not an OEM one!

I haven't used Parallels for some time..I use VMWare Fusion.

There's a walk through here that may help...
