Problem with Skype

Hi,

Skype no longer works on my mac: (An imac Intel Core 2 Duo with OS 10.6.8). I cannot upgrade Skype without using a 'Mavericks' OS. Is it practical to upgrade to this OS on this old computer, and how much would I have to spend to do it? Any advice welcome.

Mavericks is Free, some Core 2 Duo can some can't.

• Mac mini (early 2009 or newer)

It's free. Always ensure you have a full backup.
