Printer and Internet failed

What would cause the Internet and USB printer not to be recognized? There were no changes made to the computer configuration. One minute all is fine then no Internet or USB printer available. The Internet feed works fine with other computers.

1) Have you updated the printer drivers recently?
2) Have you repaired permissions via disk utility?
3) Have you

reset the print system?​

A power spike taking out the I/O board, will do that.
