possible mono output setting for headphone jack?

is it possible to set my 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4 (OS X 10.4.11 - 768 MB DDR SDRAM) to set a simple monophonic output from the headfone jack? my right studio monitor just flaked out on me, & am in a bind...couldn't find a button for mono on the sound panel in system preferences; nowhere else to modify this?
