I'm new to mac. and i'm pretty computer dumb. So please help and please treat me like I'm 5. After spilling grapeseed oil on my mac I brought it in to be fixed. When it came back the iPhoto switched to photo and now when I edit my pictures and upload them to the internet the edit doesn't stay! It appears edited in my "photo" "album", but online it reverts back to the original! What am I doing wrong?

Hello and welcome.

It sounds as if they installed the latest version of OS X Yosemite which has Photos. Photos recently replaced iPhoto. It is a much different application.

-What version of OS X is your Mac now reporting?
-When you say you upload the edited photos to the Internet, where exactly? Facebook, etc?

We'll see if we can figure this one out with you.

i talked with support and apparently my iPhoto was disabled somehow but thats since been corrected. apparently there is a flaw in the photos application that is an ongoing issue with uploading and photos not retaining they processes. which infuriates me as a photographer as i bought this new "industry standard' piece of equipment where now I have to take a backdoor to even upload orders online. grr
