Photos and Google Drive

Hi, I have two questions.
1.- I am transferring old slide 35 mm to digital. I am having problem editing them. Is it because they were not digital from the beginning or do I need different editing program that the one comes with the iMac.

2.- I am new to Google Drive, I try to upload an email, when I open it looks like it is inscript. I used Safari and Big Sur
