Paste into Pages

I have some RTF formatted text on the clipboard, and I want to now automate putting that into Pages. Basically what I want is, at the current insertion point in Pages:

• Insert a text box and set the background color to Mercury
• Paste the text into that box
• Replace all paragraph breaks with line breaks (\n to \i basically)
• Set the background color of all the text to Mercury (it's currently forcing to white when I paste)
• Make the text box the full width of the margins of the page.

Is that possible?
