So... I created a password protected folder (making a disk image) a few years ago and never had a problem. About a month or so after I switched to OS X Yosemite, the folder suddenly changed. It still is labeled the same, but the icon switched to my hard drive icon (see "important" file in image below). Now when I click on it, it just opens my hard drive.

1. What the hell happened?

2. Is there any way to get it back?

Thanks!

The Important Docs file in the image is an alias, if its opening your internal HD the alias link must be 'broken' … do you still have the original file? If you Ctrl-click the alias, look for "Show Original" to see what it shows you ...
