Just to give a little background on my mac first. My friend bought it from best buy, turned it on, put an administrative password in and never used it again. I bought the computer from her, however any time i try to update my ituned or download something it wont let me because it keeps asking for the administrator's name and password. She doesn't remember what she put. I did reboot the whole computer with the start up disk, however her name still shows up in some places and it still asks for a password. It wouldn't let me try to change it. This is very frustrating, as I cannot update my itunes or update my iphone. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

If you've got the install disc and you want to remove your friends footprint on the system then boot from the disc and in the menubar look under Utilities and there should be a 'reset master password' .... try that.

I'd also recommend you perform a clean installation of Mac OS X and this way you will totally remove the previous owners name.
