Page numbering problem

Hi, once again, something that should be easy in MAC isn't. How can I enter consecutive page numbering in a document (not numbering the first page)? The Pages help section says: click on Insert, choose Auto Page Numbers. Well, there is no drop down for 'Auto Page Numbers.' I'm running Pages 5.6.2. Can someone advise? Thanks
