I'm used to doing administration on Linux/Solaris/HP-UX/etc... Each of those have a command line tool for package management. Is there such a thing in OS X? I've searched everywhere and I just keep going no where... but I find it hard to believe that there is no way for me to figure out if some random file, say this one:
/usr/lib/libcurl.2.dylib
was installed by a package, and which package it was installed by.
I just want to know how any random file got installed. Isn't there some master catalog of what is installed where and where it came from? I could very likely just be googling the wrong things. Seems the more frustrated I get, the worse I google.
