Outlook subscription.

Apple keeps wanting me to pay for a Outlook subscription. Why can't I use any "google" products without paying for them on my iMac? I have never run into this issue in the 30+ years I have been using a computer. What is the best FREE document reader/editor to use that is compatible with an iMac?

Trying to understand a couple things: Outlook is a Microsoft product and an email client so has nothing to do with documents. Google products in terms of online documents, pictures and email are free. I can't speak to storage as I don't use any Google products.

I use either Apple's "office" suite which is free, or Libreoffice, which is open source and free. For maximum Apple compatibility, Apple's office products (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) work well.

None of these things have any thing to do with Outlook, thus my confusion.
